I work with both individuals, couples and families, specialising in helping those with relationship difficulties, low-self esteem, anxiety and depression. Couples counselling or couples therapy, can quickly diffuse tension and conflict, paving the way towards more positive and productive communication. Encouraging couples to listen differently and be open to learning something new, builds confidence for closeness and connection.
We truly thrive when we feel a sense of loving attachment as well as a sense of individuality and freedom. Most relationships go through a difficult patch at some time. Through counselling, you can learn how to stop fights from escalating, identify and change the underlying patterns that cause them and reconnect to the bond that you share with each other.
I did my initial training in integrative Relationship counselling and psychotherapy at RELATE. I have a Post Graduate Diploma in relationship therapy and have subsequently done further training in therapeutic approaches such as EFT and IMAGO.
I am an experienced, registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) I currently see couples and individuals at my private practice in Central London.
Prior to training as a therapist, I worked for a number of years in the film industry and I bring to my therapy practice an understanding of the pressures a creative and/or competitive job can present.
Style and Theoretical Approach
Finding the right therapist for you is as much about their style and personality as their qualifications.
I work integratively, which means I can draw from different theories to suit each individual client’s needs. I am particularly influenced by attachment theory, Systemic family systems and relational / compassion / mindfulness based ways of working.
